Youth Legislature [of Louisiana] is one of the most helpful and empowering opportunities I have experienced as a student. It has given me an amazing chance to see what a future career in politics could look like.
In addition to that, Youth Legislature has given me so many opportunities to meet other students who are interested in making a difference. As someone passionate about journalism, this program has allowed me to explore what a career in that field might be like.
Having attended Youth Legislature twice, the best part I’ve seen is how many different roles and paths are available—whether you’re writing a bill or running for office, each opportunity provides a unique and exciting experience.
As a bill sponsor, I’ve learned how researching and presenting a bill can help you grow in confidence and leadership. As a press delegate, I’ve been able to improve my writing, speak in a public setting, and work alongside many incredibly talented peers.
Through Youth Legislature, I’ve been given the opportunity to make a real impact on the future of Louisiana.
