Our History

• Youth legislature was founded in 1978 by Camp Fire USA

• After Camp Fire’s transition, the program was hosted for over a decade by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Baton Rouge.

• In recent years, it was adopted by the Big Buddy Program.

• Now – YOUTH LEGISLATURE OF LOUISIANA

In 2024, Youth Legislature of Louisiana officially became an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
